About Me

I recently had a birthday and pledged to myself that 28 would be my year of doing.  Each year on my birthday I think long and hard about what I want to achieve over the next 365 days.  In the past, those goals have been mostly education and career related.  But not this year.

While I love my professional life and have worked extraordinarily hard to get where I am, I am quickly learning that work-life balance is in order.  I’ve spent what seems like forever focused on school and work and then more work, and now I’ve finally decided it’s time to focus on me.  To pursue what I’m passionate about.  To give just a little bit more time to the things that make me smile.

A recent cross-country move has taken me out of the hustle and bustle of east coast city life and into the land of sand, sunshine, calm breezes, and ocean views.  With this new place came a new outlook on life.  Since I arrived in California a few short months ago, I’ve been happily stripping away my old stresses and excuses for not doing things that make me happy and excitedly making lists upon lists of things to do, places to see, and projects to make.

Don’t worry, the job still exists, but living on the west coast and working on east coast time has given me those magical extra few hours in the day I always wished for, and I have promised myself to make the most of them.  This blog is my attempt to hold myself accountable to the pledge I made.  To pursue what I’m passionate about and to share that passion and love with others.  I hope your visits here will inspire you to focus more on what matters to you.  And maybe to fill your home with a bit more love, craftiness, and tchotchkes along the way.
