7 Days of Fall: A Day-By-Day Guide to Embracing the Season {Day 6: Pull Out Your Plaid}

Fall Plaid @ With Love, From CA

Day 6:  Pull Out Your Plaid

Nothing says fall to me like some serious plaid.  If you’ve got it, use it.  I have a number of plaid blankets and throws that I usually keep tucked away throughout the year.  When fall rolls around, I start strewing them about the house.  A blanket at the foot of the bed.  A throw on an armchair or sprawled over the corner of the couch.

Tip:  Not quite ready for flannel sheets yet?  Keep your cotton ones on, but use plaid flannel pillowcases for just a touch of fall.

Here are a few plaid goodies available in stores now (that I may or may not be lusting after) that can help spruce up your home for fall and will carry you all the way through winter:

    • I’m originally from Buffalo, NY, so I know the value of good [plaid] flannel. I’ve been lusting after the L.L. Bean plaid flannel sheets for a couple of season now, but have yet to purchase them. I keep telling myself they will go on sale, but they never do. It’s getting cold in California, so maybe it’s finally time to make a move! Thanks for reading!

  1. Growing up, my mother seriously detested plaid due to being the product of catholic schooling and it kind of rubbed off on her offspring. The only plaid I like is Burberry but after seeing your plaid combos, I am definitely reconsidering!

  2. From one plaid lover to another, you rock. You’ve made me want to run out and buy plaid EVERYTHING! I think we’ll be investing in some plaid sheets very soon:) Love you guys
